    What is a practitioner?

R.Sc.P. (or RScP) is the designation for a licensed professional Center for Spiritual Living practitioner (“practitioner”). The practitioner license is granted by the Centers for Spiritual Living to perform prayer and other types of spiritual work after a four year formal course of study and formal examinations. The first two years are devoted to study in our philosophy, principles and spiritual practices. The final two years of study are focused on the skills needed to be a successful practitioner.

After licensing, practitioners are required to follow a professional code of ethics, take continuing education and provide service to their community in order to retain their designation as “licensed practitioner.” Licenses are renewed every two years.

Emeritus (“lifetime”) status is an honor that may granted after at least 20 years of professional service as a licensed practitioner. InSpirit has several practitioners with this designation.

    What does a practitioner do?

Practitioners are trained to “know the truth” behind any situation and are able to remind their clients of that truth during spiritual sessions that may include the use of prayer techniques. Practitioners hold a sacred space where healing can occur.

Many people choose to meet with a practitioner when faced with a specific challenge. Others work with a Practitioner regularly to grow and deepen in spiritual awareness. A practitioner session can help you understand your challenge and its possible cause. Sometimes you are too close to a situation to have an objective viewpoint. Working with a practitioner can help you work through these situations and learn how to sustain results into the future.

All of us at times get caught up in human experiences such as disease of the body, disharmony in our relationships, discontent with ourselves or our lives, or frustrated with aspects of our material world. A practitioner can help you see and understand the human condition, while at the same time see the wholeness in each situation and the perfection in us all.

Through the spiritual practice of affirmative prayer, practitioners create a sacred space where healing can occur by knowing and revealing a spiritual Truth that is greater than any physical condition or situation. Miracles take place through affirmative prayer.

Practitioners are available for private and confidential sessions. Each practitioner has their own individual fee schedule and appointment schedule.

    What is spiritual mind treatment?

Spiritual mind treatment is a form of affirmative prayer that has five defined steps. It directly applies our philosophy with demonstrable results. The steps are simple to learn and easy to use.

As with all Affirmative Prayer, Spiritual Mind Treatment, is very effective because it moves the person praying to a place in consciousness where there is affirmation, acceptance and gratitude for the good that has already been given.

    How do we pray?

We do not wish, we know.

We do not dream, we state.

We do not hope, we accept.

We do not ask, we announce.

We do not expect something to happen, we believe that it already has.

(Adapted from words of Ernest Holmes, founder of our philosophy and the author of the book, The Science of Mind, and many others).

    When are practitioners available?

Practitioners are available after each Sunday service for short “prayer blasts” — a quick prayer to help you get through a particular situation. On the 4th Sunday of each month during the service called a “Prayer Wall,” practitioners are available for very short affirmative prayers.

There is no charge for these prayer blast sessions. If you would like more in-depth work, talk with a practitioner to make an appointment.

    What Is the cost?

In private practice, a practitioner — like any other licensed professional — receives a fee for his or her time, training and skill in providing a service.

Each has an individual fee schedule. Arrangements are made between the client and the practitioner.

Affirmative Prayer or  Spiritual Mind Treatment

The Center for Spiritual Living uses a 5 step form of affirmative prayer. We don’t beg or beseech God to grant our wishes. We KNOW that because we are filled with God energy, we are a already a divine being with the inherent qualities that God is already. We just need to remind ourselves of that for it to be revealed more fully in our lives.

    Step 1: Recognition

We begin every Spiritual Mind Treatment with Recognition that there is One Life and that Life is God. You may call God by any other name that makes It clear and personal to you, such as: Spirit, Great Spirit, Universe, Allah, Buddha, Infinite Mind, the One, the Force, Light, All That Is, the Ultimate Stuff, the One Energy or any other term that feels right to you.

Begin with a statement recognizing God, such as: “I know there is an Infinite Spirit that I call the Universe” or “I recognize the One as the power, the presence and the love of All That Is.”

If you are praying for a particular aspect of God, you might say “I recognize that God is perfect health (or “God is love, truth, beauty, harmony, peace, wellness, perfect health, perfect relationship, perfect time, divine right action” etc.)

    Step 2: Unification

In the Unification step of Spiritual Mind Treatment, we affirm that the same Spirit that God is, we are. We are OF God — Divine emanations of the Oneness that is in, as and through everything. Since God is all there is, there can be nothing outside of God and no one separate from God. And so we realize and declare our Oneness as spiritual beings.

After you do the Recognition step, make some simple declaration of your unity with the Allness of God, such as: “I am One with that Infinite Mind” or “I recognize my unity with All That Is.”

    Step 3: Realization

In Step 3 of your Spiritual Mind Treatment, you want to Realize the qualities or attributes of God that you want to embrace within yourself — to call forth in your own consciousness. These are the Divine qualities inherent within you that you want to become more conscious OF.

And so you might want to say something like, “I know that the Divine qualities of peace, power, abundance and wisdom are already within me. I embrace them now.” Or, “All that God is, I AM. I step forth into my true Divinity, saying yes to my own prosperity, guidance, order, harmony and love.

If you are praying for a specific aspect, you might say, “Because God is and all things are of God, I realize that is also mine right now.” Substitute the quality you want to affirm by replacing with the God-quality that you want to affirm.

    Step 4: Thanksgiving

Step 4 of your Spiritual Mind Treatment is Thanksgiving. An attitude of gratitude is essential to establishing a new intention in our lives. In giving thanks, we are declaring that it is already done. We are grateful for it. It is so.

In your Thanksgiving step, you may want to say something like “I am so grateful for the revelation of this spiritual Truth in my life.’ Or, “It is with great gratitude that I accept this transformation of consciousness for myself.”

    Step 5: Release

In Step 5, the Release step of your Spiritual Mind Treatment, you let go and let God. You are turning your affirmative declaration of Truth entirely over to Infinite Love, Spirit, the Allness that is God. It is a very important step, because as long as you hold on to it, nothing can take place.

You may want to simply say, “I release. I let go. I let the Spirit do Its perfect work.” Or, “I trust the Universe to provide for me. It is done. It is so.” Or, simply, “And so it is! Amen.”

A short version and easy way to remember the 5 steps:

    1. God is …

    2. I AM …

    3. It is …

    4. Thanks …

    5. Good bye.
